Canggu has no single dining strip, so the quickest way to choose is by street. This guide groups the restaurants Pinlora lists along the four roads visitors use most. It is a starting map, not a ranking: every venue is matched to its Google Maps listing, and none has paid to be here. For the full list, see the Canggu restaurants page and the wider Canggu area page.
Jalan Tanah Barak: gardens and rice paddies
Tanah Barak runs close to Batu Bolong and holds a cluster of garden-style places. La Baracca Canggu is an Italian trattoria with vintage furnishings and wood-fired dishes on its listing. Santanera spreads over three levels with a Latin American slant. Yema Kitchen serves Mediterranean-Levantine food in a garden courtyard with a plunge pool. For plant-based meals, Shady Shack and I AM VEGAN BABE both sit on this road, and the second is described as fully plant-based. More choices are in the vegan and vegetarian guide.
Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong: the busy middle
Batu Bolong is the lively centre of Canggu, so expect crowds and scooters. Moana Fish Eatery is a Polynesian-themed seafood place; its listing says the tuna and catch come from local boats. Mason Canggu cooks European-Mediterranean food over a wood-fired hearth and charcoal grill. Luma is another wood-fired Mediterranean restaurant. Penny Lane is a glasshouse-style restaurant and cocktail bar on Jalan Munduk Catu. If you would rather have a beer than a full meal, Black Sand Brewery is a craft brewery and beer garden facing rice fields, and Old Man's is a beachfront beer garden near the Batu Bolong break.
Berawa: newer openings and shared tables
Further north, Berawa leans towards destination dining. Mosto is described as a natural wine bar with a small neo-bistro menu. Ulekan focuses on Indonesian regional cooking inside a Javanese joglo pavilion. Sista Dumpling is a modern Chinese eatery with handmade dumplings, looking over rice fields on Jalan Raya Semat. Sa'Mesa is different from the rest: guests sit together at one long table for a shared Italian feast, so it suits groups and is not a quick stop.
Pererenan: a quieter strip
Pererenan is a few minutes up the coast and has a more relaxed feel. Shelter Pererenan is a timber-and-volcanic-stone restaurant with a contemporary menu, and Bar Vera is a neo-Parisian bistro and wine bar on the ground floor of a hotel. Touché is a café and dining pavilion on the same road.
Casual, late and fast
Not every meal needs a booking. Luigi's Hot Pizza is a large open-air pizza place whose listing mentions Monday-night parties. BB52 Burgers is a burger bar near Echo Beach. Lola's Cantina Mexicana sits beside rice paddies on the Canggu Shortcut and pairs Mexican food with cocktails.
Tips for choosing
- Plan the traffic. The roads between Batu Bolong, Berawa and Pererenan are narrow. Pick one area per evening instead of crossing Canggu.
- Book the set-format places. Shared-table and tasting-style venues usually run on reservations, so check the venue's own channels.
- Check hours and menus directly. Pinlora does not list prices. Menus and opening times change, so confirm them on the venue's Maps listing or social page before you go.
- Looking for coffee instead? Canggu's cafés are a separate list on the area page.
