Conceived and created by the Royal Family of Ubud (Tjokorda Raka Kerthyasa and the royal house of Puri Saren) in collaboration with the lineage of the Pita Maha arts movement founded in 1936, The Royal Pita Maha is a magnificent resort that celebrates Balinese culture, royal heritage, and spiritual art. Descending 18 steep hectares down the lush jungle ravine of Kedewatan to the sacred banks of the Ayung River, the property was handcrafted entirely by local Balinese artisans and stonemasons. The grounds feature monumental hand-carved volcanic stone murals, towering shrines, life-size statues of Hindu deities, and cascading natural spring-fed bathing pools. Every standalone luxury villa is designed as a royal Balinese compound with private swimming pools, open-air living pavilions, and views of the mist-covered river valley. Dining venues include Ayung Organic Restaurant on the riverbank, serving fresh produce grown on the resort's riverside organic farm, Terrace Bali Restaurant, and Dewata Lounge perched on the upper cliff rim. The resort also houses the Royal Kirana Spa & Wellness center with private spa villas and natural holy spring pools.
