Crystal Bay
Busy 09:00 AM - 11:00 AM Found on Google Maps 1 Oct 2026
Crystal Bay, known locally as Pantai Sebuluh, is a picturesque crescent-shaped bay situated on the western coast of Nusa Penida. Fringed by a dense grove of towering coconut palms and white sand, the bay is framed by dramatic karst headlands with a small temple-topped rocky islet guarding its center. Unlike many of the island's cliff-locked shores, Crystal Bay offers effortless drive-up access directly to the beach. Its tranquil, transparent waters make it Nusa Penida's premier destination for off-beach snorkeling, as well as the island's most celebrated location for viewing sunsets over the Lombok Strait.
Insider tips
-
01
Snorkeling Hotspots. The best coral beds and marine life are found near the rocky reef outcroppings along the far left and right edges of the bay, where sea turtles and colorful reef fish thrive.
-
02
Beware of Strong Currents. Do not swim toward the rocky islet in the middle or outside the mouth of the bay, as treacherous ocean currents rip through the deep channel between the islands.
-
03
Sunset Beanbag Lounging. Arrive around 4:45 PM, rent a beanbag and umbrella from a beachside warung, and enjoy cold Bintangs while watching the sunset over the horizon.
