Mushroom Bay is a charming, crescent-shaped cove located on the southwestern coast of Nusa Lembongan, famed for its powdery white sand and tranquil turquoise waters. Serving as one of the primary harbor arrival points for speedboats from Sanur, the bay is sheltered by limestone headlands that keep its waters remarkably calm throughout the year. The shoreline is lined with cozy beachfront cafes, boutique eco-resorts, and dive shacks where visitors can relax on daybeds while enjoying views of anchored wooden fishing boats. With its gentle sandy incline and absence of strong undertows, it is widely considered one of the premier family-friendly swimming and watersports locations on the island.

Insider tips

  1. 01

Swim Away from the Boat Zone. Fast boats and water taxis dock along the central part of the beach; head to the southern or northern ends of the crescent for undisturbed swimming and cleaner water.

  2. 02

Beachfront Dinner at Sunset. Reserve a beachfront table at one of the rustic restaurants, such as Hai Bar & Grill or Sanghyang Bay, to dine with your toes in the sand as the sun dips below the horizon.

  3. 03

Coastal Walk to Tamarind Bay. Follow the scenic cliffside footpath extending south from Mushroom Bay to explore nearby Tamarind Bay and Secret Beach without needing a scooter.

Beach access is completely free; scooter parking is available along the alleyway entrance leading down to the sand for Rp 2,000 to Rp 5,000.
Dress Code & Baggage Tip
Standard beachwear and swimwear are appropriate; note that fast boat arrivals require wet-landing (wading through calf-deep water to the sand), so wear sandals or water shoes.
