Mount Batur Sunrise Trek
Busy 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Found on Google Maps 9 Oct 2026
Mount Batur is an active stratovolcano rising 1,717 meters above sea level within a massive prehistoric caldera in Bali's northeastern Kintamani region. The sunrise trek is one of the island's quintessential outdoor experiences, leading hikers along winding volcanic paths under starlit skies to reach the crater rim before daybreak. From the summit, trekkers witness a stunning sunrise over Lake Batur, Mount Abang, and the distant silhouette of Mount Rinjani on Lombok across the sea. The summit crater also features natural volcanic steam vents, steaming fumaroles, and extensive black lava fields formed during eruptions in 1963 and 1968.
