Situated on Jalan Petitenget within the Desa Potato Head creative village, Potato Head Suites (formerly Katamama) is an internationally acclaimed boutique hotel that epitomizes sustainable tropical modernism and artisanal craftsmanship. Conceived by Potato Head founder Ronald Akili and designed by renowned Indonesian architect Andra Matin, the five-story structure is constructed from over 1.5 million hand-pressed terracotta bricks hand-molded by local artisans in Dharmasaba village using traditional Balinese temple-building techniques. The interiors, curated by Takenouchi Webb, showcase bespoke mid-century Danish furniture, hand-woven indigo textiles from Pejeng, custom ceramics, and terrazzo. As a core pillar of Desa Potato Head's "Good Times, Do Good" zero-waste philosophy, the 57-suite sanctuary operates entirely without single-use plastics and features the Waste Lab upcycling workshop, the plant-based culinary institute Tanaman, authentic regional Indonesian restaurant Kaum, zero-waste seafood restaurant Ijen, and the panoramic Sunset Park rooftop bar overlooking Petitenget Beach.
