Atuh Beach is a dramatic secluded cove situated beneath towering limestone bluffs on the remote southeastern coast of Nusa Penida. The bay is distinguished by crystal-clear turquoise waters and striking offshore coral rock formations, most notably the colossal arched rock islet known as Batu Melawang. Reached by descending a steep flight of concrete stairs carved into the cliff face, the beach opens onto a pristine crescent of soft white sand lined with rustic warungs. Sheltered from open ocean swells by its rocky headlands, it offers a tranquil haven for sunbathing, swimming at high tide, and enjoying fresh coconut water.

Combine with Diamond Beach. Atuh Beach shares the same clifftop parking area as Diamond Beach; visit Diamond Beach first for morning photos, then head down to Atuh for relaxed lounging and shade.

Check the Tides. High to mid-tide is the best time for swimming; at extreme low tide, the ocean recedes significantly to expose a sharp coral reef and tidal sea grass bed.

Choose the Easier Staircase. There are two stair approaches to Atuh Beach; the newer concrete staircase on the southern/Diamond Beach side is generally wider and safer than the steep northern cliff path.

- A joint entrance ticket of Rp 25,000 per person covers both Atuh Beach and Diamond Beach, with parking costing Rp 5,000 for scooters and Rp 10,000 for cars.
- Footwear & Amenities
- Wear sturdy trainers or secure strap sandals for the steep staircase descent; beach warungs offer bamboo loungers for Rp 50,000 to Rp 100,000 and serve simple Indonesian meals.
