West Bali National Park
Busy 09:00 AM - 11:00 AM Found on Google Maps 6 Oct 2026
West Bali National Park (Taman Nasional Bali Barat) is Bali's sole official national park, encompassing over 19,000 hectares of protected terrestrial and marine ecosystems across the island's western tip in Jembrana and Buleleng. Established in 1941, the park serves as the last natural sanctuary for the critically endangered Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi or Jalak Bali), the island's only endemic vertebrate species. The biodiversity hotspot encompasses monsoon forests, arid savannahs, dense mangrove estuaries, and the world-renowned coral reefs surrounding Menjangan Island. Inhabited by wild Javan rusa deer, black monkeys (lutung), and over 160 species of tropical birds, the park provides an untouched ecological wilderness far removed from southern Bali's tourist corridors.
