Taman Ujung Water Palace
Busy 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Found on Google Maps 1 Oct 2026
Taman Ujung Water Palace, officially known as Taman Sukasada Ujung, is an expansive royal water palace built in 1909 by the last reigning King of Karangasem, I Gusti Bagus Jelantik. Set against the backdrop of Mount Agung and the Lombok Strait, the complex harmoniously blends traditional Balinese, Dutch colonial, and Chinese architectural styles across multiple vast reflection pools. Elegant brick bridges connect ornate floating pavilions, including the central Bale Gili and Bale Kambang, which originally served as royal retreats and diplomatic banquet halls. After suffering damage from the 1963 eruption of Mount Agung and a 1979 earthquake, the palace was meticulously restored and now stands as one of eastern Bali's most regal cultural landmarks.
