$$$ Busy 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Lunch) Found on Google Maps 2 Oct 2026
Sate Babi Bawah Pohon is an iconic Balinese street-food powerhouse located on Jalan Dewi Sri in Legian. Originally founded as a humble pushcart operating beneath the shade of a large banyan tree near Gelora Trisakti soccer stadium, the stall earned cult status among locals and travelers before expanding into a sprawling, open-air food hall. The warung specializes in authentic Balinese sweet-and-spicy pork satay: tender skewers of skewered pork shoulder and pork belly marinated in a rich mixture of sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), garlic, coriander, turmeric, and local chilies, then grilled over red-hot coconut charcoal until caramelized and deeply smoky. Served alongside traditional tipat (compressed rice cakes) and fresh bird's eye chilies, it delivers one of the most irresistible culinary bites in Bali.
