Double Six Beach is an energetic and expansive stretch of golden sand situated along the coastal seam connecting Seminyak and Legian. Renowned for its wide sandy shores and forgiving rolling waves over a sand bottom, it serves as one of Bali's most popular destinations for beginner and intermediate surf lessons. In the late afternoon, the beachfront comes alive as colorful beanbag bars unfurl rainbow umbrellas, live acoustic musicians perform, and locals organize friendly beach soccer matches. Bordered by a paved walking promenade lined with cafes, surf schools, and hotels, it offers an quintessential Bali beach experience from morning surf to glowing sunset.

Insider tips

  1. 01

Beginner-Friendly Surf Conditions. The broad beach break features a gentle sand bottom with no dangerous reef heads; rent a foam surfboard from beach shacks near Blue Ocean for safe beginner practice.

  2. 02

Sunset Beanbag Prime Time. Colorful beachside beanbag bars set up tables right on the sand for golden hour; arrive by 4:45 PM to grab a front-row seat at the water line before sunset begins.

  3. 03

Low Tide Beach Walks. Visit during low tide when the wide, hard-packed sandy expanse allows for miles of uninterrupted walking north toward Seminyak or south toward Legian and Kuta.
