Bebek Bengil, affectionately known worldwide as the 'Dirty Duck Diner', is a legendary culinary institution founded in 1990 on Jalan Hanoman in Ubud. The restaurant earned its quirky moniker when a flock of muddy ducks from neighboring paddies waddled through the newly built dining pavilion right before opening day. Nestled within several hectares of manicured gardens and functioning rice fields, guests dine in traditional thatched open-air pavilions (bales). It is internationally famous for inventing Bali's iconic Crispy Duck, marinated in Balinese spices and deep-fried to crisp perfection.
