The Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) is a premier cultural institution and living museum set within five hectares of botanical gardens and springs in Pengosekan, Ubud. Established in 1996 by Balinese art collector Agung Rai, the museum houses an exceptional collection of traditional, modern, and contemporary Indonesian art spanning multiple eras. Its permanent galleries showcase landmark masterworks ranging from antique Kamasan bark cloth paintings to celebrated pieces by Raden Saleh, Affandi, and European expatriates Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet. Far more than a static gallery, ARMA actively preserves Balinese cultural heritage through daily traditional dance rehearsals, gamelan music workshops, and woodcarving classes.
