Tirta Gangga is a former royal water palace built in 1946 by Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem, the last Raja of Karangasem, in eastern Bali. Named after the sacred Ganges River of Hinduism, the palace spans a hectare of stepped gardens fed by revered natural mountain springs from the nearby Rejasa hill. The estate is world-famous for its polygonal stone stepping-path laid across a mirror-like pond teeming with hundreds of giant, colorful koi fish. Featuring an iconic 10-tiered fountain, ornate stone mythological statues, and spring-fed bathing pools, it represents the pinnacle of Karangasem royal architecture.
