Pura Taman Ayun is a splendid 17th-century royal water temple situated in Mengwi, Badung Regency, celebrated as one of the finest architectural masterpieces in Bali. Commissioned in 1634 by I Gusti Agung Putu, the King of Mengwi, the temple served as the royal ancestral sanctuary for the Mengwi dynasty and is recognized as part of Bali's UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. Surrounded by a wide, picturesque moat blanketed with lotus and water lily blooms, the expansive complex features manicured tropical gardens, paved ceremonial courtyards, and a majestic row of multi-tiered meru towers that rise gracefully against the skyline. Its name translates to \"Beautiful Garden Temple,\" reflecting its serene harmony between sacred Hindu architecture and aquatic landscapes.
