Kanto Lampo Waterfall is a picturesque stepped cascade tucked inside a secluded river canyon in Beng village, Gianyar Regency. Unlike traditional vertical plunge waterfalls, spring waters here tumble across an expansive, terraced black limestone rock formation, creating a wide curtain of rushing rivulets and white water. The site is celebrated for its unique interactive experience, allowing visitors to wade through the shallow riverbed and sit directly on the sculpted rock shelves under the cascading falls. Shaded by towering canyon walls and overhanging jungle foliage, the gorge maintains a cool, atmospheric ambiance ideal for swimming and photography.

Insider tips

  1. 01

Enlist Local Photo Guides. Friendly local guides standing in the river are experts at capturing wide-angle photos and slow-motion videos on visitor smartphones; tip them generously (Rp 20,000 - Rp 50,000) for their help.

  2. 02

Wear Grippy Water Shoes. Reaching the best vantage points requires wading through waist-deep water over slippery submerged river boulders; sturdy water shoes make navigation safe and comfortable.

  3. 03

Arrive at 7:00 AM Opening. A single queue forms in the river for the iconic rock photo spot; arriving right when doors open at 7:00 AM allows you to enjoy the falls with zero wait time.
