Directions →

Jatiluwih Rice Terraces encompass more than 600 hectares of terraced agricultural amphitheaters cascading down the fertile southern slopes of Mount Batukaru in Tabanan Regency. Formally inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape in 2012, Jatiluwih represents the purest living manifestation of Bali's ancient Subak water-management system and the Tri Hita Karana spiritual philosophy. Unlike smaller, steeper valley terraces, Jatiluwih unfolds in vast, sweeping panoramas of undulating green hills fed by pure volcanic mountain springs. A network of well-maintained walking trails and cycling routes allows visitors to wander deep into the peaceful agricultural valley, meeting local farmers cultivating organic heritage red rice.
