Gembleng Waterfall
Busy 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Found on Google Maps 1 Oct 2026
Gembleng Waterfall, nestled within the verdant hills of Tri Eka Buana village in Sidemen, is one of eastern Bali's most enchanting hidden gems. Rather than a solitary towering drop, Gembleng consists of multiple cascading tiers of clear mountain spring water cascading through lush jungle flora. The waterfall is famous for its natural stone infinity pools perched along the cliff edge, forming natural jacuzzis where bathers can soak while taking in panoramic vistas of tropical forests and distant rice fields. The site is also an active spiritual sanctuary used by local Balinese Hindus for sacred melukat (water purification) ceremonies.
Insider tips
-
01
Limited Rock Pool Space. The iconic upper rock infinity pool comfortably holds only two or three bathers at a time; arrive before 9:00 AM to enjoy soaking without waiting in line for photos.
-
02
Sacred Site Respect. Remember that Gembleng is a holy water site; dress respectfully, wear appropriate swimwear, and never step or place belongings on the stone offering shrines.
-
03
Manageable Step Count. The climb to the top takes only about 5 to 8 minutes up approximately 60 concrete steps with handrails, making it much more accessible than the deep gorge waterfalls of northern Bali.
