Amed Beach is a tranquil coastal expanse spanning several traditional fishing villages along the dramatic, arid northeastern coast of Karangasem Regency. Characterized by striking black volcanic sand shores and rows of vibrant jukung outrigger canoes, Amed provides a peaceful contrast to southern Bali's surf hubs. The coastline is internationally celebrated as Bali's premier scuba diving and freediving destination, featuring crystal-clear waters and vibrant shallow coral gardens right off the beach. Set directly against the towering silhouette of Mount Agung, Amed treats visitors to some of the most spectacular coastal sunsets in Indonesia.
